Attraction Introduction

Delphi, located 150 kilometers from Athens, is a sacred site in ancient Greece, considered the "center of the earth" and the "navel of the world," and was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1987. It mainly consists of the Temple of Apollo, the Temple of Athena, a theater, a gymnasium, and sports fields. The most famous of these is the Temple of Apollo, the ancient Greek god of light and youth, and the god of music, poetry, medicine, and animal husbandry. Legend has it that Zeus, in order to determine the center of the earth, released two eagles from the poles, which met at Delphi. Zeus determined that this was the center of the earth and placed a round stone there as a marker.
