Specific itinerary
You'll leave bustling Manchester behind and head straight to the beautiful and tranquil Lake District.
The first stop of the day is Bowness on the Windermere coast. You will have time to take a leisurely stroll along the lake and enjoy the stunning views, or browse the town's many unique shops.
Leaving Bowness, head south towards Coniston Water in Windermere. Enjoy views of the water before arriving in the picturesque town of Hawkshead, where the poet William Wordsworth attended grammar school.
After touring the village, you'll head north along narrow country roads to the town of Grasmere, described by Wordsworth as "the fairest spot ever discovered by man". Visit Wordsworth's Dove Cottage, sample the legendary gingerbread, or enjoy the tranquility of Wordsworth's Daffodil Garden beside the River Rosie. Heading along country roads to the south coast, we'll enjoy the stunning views of Ullswater Lake as we drive from the Lake District towards Lancaster.
After the tour, return to Manchester.
