The Dark Hedges is a magical landscape in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, famous for its rows of twisted beech trees lining a 300-meter-long road. These ancient trees, planted in the 18th century, form a deep, natural arcade in the air, their unique and somber beauty making them a globally renowned photography destination and a popular filming location for the "Kings Road" in the hit TV series *Game of Thrones*.

How to Get There

The Dark Hedges is located approximately 80 kilometers northwest of Belfast. The most recommended way to get there from Belfast is by car, a journey of about 1 hour and 15 minutes along the M2/A26. You can park in designated parking lots and walk in. Alternatively, you can take a train or bus from Belfast to Balimina, then transfer to a local taxi; the entire journey takes about 2 hours. It is also frequently included in day trips to the Giant's Causeway and Causeway Coast starting from Belfast.

Travel Tips

When visiting the Dark Hedges, please park your vehicle in the designated parking area and avoid obstructing traffic by parking on the roadside. This is a public road with free access; please respect the surrounding environment and do not climb on or damage these precious centuries-old trees. Due to the relatively remote location and inconvenient public transport links, it is advisable to plan your return journey in advance. Furthermore, Northern Irish weather is changeable, so please bring a waterproof and windproof jacket and suitable walking shoes.
