Day 3: Portsmouth → Winchester → Stonehenge → Exeter
In Cornwall, England's westernmost county, the legend of King Arthur blends seamlessly with authentic Celtic history. Today, you'll explore the 12th-century Norman castle in Launceston, the ancient capital of Cornwall. Head west to the North Cornish coast and Queen Elizabethan fishing village of Boscastle. Indulge in cream tea, stroll along a dramatic headland, or learn a spell or two at the Wizardry Museum.
You will visit the village of Tintagel and the ruins of its cape castle, said to be the birthplace of King Arthur, perched atop a romantic cliff. After lunch, you will travel to Port Isaac, a picturesque fishing village you will fall in love with. Then, you will head south to the bustling port town of Falmouth for the next two nights.
Day 4: Dartmoor National Park ‣ Exeter
Today, you will explore the southwesternmost corner of England. You will travel to St. Michael's Mount, a famous tidal island. Then, we continue to the unique setting of the Minack Theatre, situated above the turbulent sea and a beautiful beach protected by the UK National Fund.
You will then visit Land's End, followed by scenic views of the ruins of Cornish tin mines, now a filming location for the Poldark series. St Ives is the final stop for the day, a labyrinthine network of artist galleries along the narrow harbor. You will return to Falmouth for the night.
D5: Cornwall‣ Tintajer ‣ Falmouth
After breakfast, you will depart Cornwall and cross the Bodmin Marsh, a wild moorland designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Before continuing to Glastonbury, we will take a break.
