How to Get There

The most convenient way to get to the Glenfinnan Viaduct is by car or chartered vehicle; a common route is about a 30-minute drive from Fort William. You can also take the train to Glenfinnan Station, but trains are limited. There is parking near the bridge; from there, it's about a 10-20 minute walk uphill to the viewpoint. Crowds increase significantly during peak season and when the steam train is running, so it's recommended to arrive early to secure a good spot. The path to the viewpoint is a dirt and grassy track, which can be slippery on rainy days.
