Our first stop was the town of Burford, known as the "Gateway to the Cotswolds." It felt like stepping out of a fairytale; narrow cobblestone streets flowed down the slopes, lined with well-preserved old stone houses and traditional shops. Strolling through it, time seemed to slow down, making it a perfect spot for taking photos and soaking in the atmosphere of an old English town.

The journey then takes us to Wales, a land with an ancient language, over 600 castles, and stunning natural landscapes—the real adventure begins here. Our first stop is Hay-on-Wye, the world-renowned "book city," famous for its secondhand and antique bookstores, a pilgrimage site for book lovers. You'll have free time to wander among the book-scented shops, perhaps even finding a unique travel souvenir. Next, we'll travel to the picturesque Elan Valley. Lakes, reservoirs, rivers, and forests intertwine to create a tranquil and magnificent natural landscape, offering breathtaking views along the way. The journey continues its ascent into the Cambrian Mountains, where magnificent highland landscapes, rolling hills, and plains gradually unfold. Today's itinerary will take us north into the heart of Wales' most iconic mountain region – Eryri National Park (also known as Snodonia National Park). The magnificent mountain landscapes along the way will allow you to truly experience the raw and expansive natural charm of Wales. Midway through the journey, we'll stop at the small village of Beddgelert, nestled deep within the national park. Surrounded by mountains and forests, traditional stone houses dot the landscape, and the streets are quiet and poetic. Most unforgettable here is the legendary story of the loyal dog "Gelert," adding a deeply moving touch to this tranquil town.

Afterwards, we will visit Harlech Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to Aberystwyth in the afternoon, where you'll have ample free time upon arrival. After leaving Aberystwyth, the journey continues along the Cardigan Firth coastline, passing through the vibrant and charming port town of Aberaeron, before arriving at the captivating seaside town of New Quay. The journey then turns inland, traversing rolling hills and vast green farmlands to reach Dinefwr Estate (also known as Newton House). Here, you'll be transported through different chapters of Welsh history: on one hand, the ruins of medieval Dinefwr Castle, once the residence of Welsh kings, and on the other, the elegant Georgian Newton House, creating a striking yet harmonious contrast. In the evening, we'll arrive at Tenby, a harbor town on the edge of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. This will be our accommodation for the night, and we'll have complete freedom in the evening. You can stroll along the golden sands, admiring the Victorian architecture and city walls, or visit a traditional pub and restaurant to experience the relaxed atmosphere of this classic Welsh seaside resort town.

Today's itinerary will delve into Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, renowned as one of the UK's most captivating coastlines. Majestic cliffs, azure seas, and pristine natural landscapes create breathtaking vistas. This region is not only stunningly beautiful but also the birthplace of St. David, the patron saint of Wales, and the Tudor dynasty. A brief stop for supplies will be made in Pembrokeshire before continuing to St. Davis.

Upon arrival in St Davids, you will have time for lunch and free time to explore this smallest yet most historically rich episcopal city in England. Named after Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, the city's central landmark is the imposing St Davids Cathedral, a prime example of medieval religious architecture. Ancient stone walls, tranquil streets, and a strong religious atmosphere make the entire city exceptionally pure and captivating.

The afternoon itinerary is entirely up to you. History buffs can return to Pembroke and visit the medieval Pembroke Castle—the birthplace of King Henry VII of England; those who prefer seaside scenery can stay in Tenby to relax on the beach or take a boat to the tranquil Caldey Island, still inhabited by Cistercian monks. Whichever option you choose, you can return to Tenby in the evening to climb the seaside hill and admire the castle ruins and expansive sea views. You'll have another overnight stay in Tenby, with complete freedom of time. Enjoy a stroll along the beach and watch the sunset gently dip below the horizon, a beautiful way to conclude this day filled with history and nature.

On the final day of our Wales trip, we'll embark on a culturally rich journey through South Wales. Leaving this captivating land, we'll first head to St Fagans to visit the National History Museum of Wales. This iconic open-air museum meticulously preserves and recreates traditional architecture and lifestyles from different historical periods in Wales. At St Fagans, you can step into historical scenes from various eras, visiting old farmhouses, schools, churches, and workshops, experiencing Welsh folk culture and traditional crafts up close. It's not only the best place to learn about Welsh history, but also a slow-paced cultural space perfect for leisurely strolls and lunch.

The itinerary then bids farewell to Wales, crossing the River Severn estuary back into England, re-entering the picturesque Cotswolds region. Renowned for its tranquil countryside, traditional stone houses, and gardens, Cotswolds is one of England's most iconic pastoral landscapes. The journey will stop at Castle Combe, hailed as "one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds." Here, you can freely stroll, photograph the iconic stone bridges and honey-colored stone houses, and immerse yourself in postcard-perfect rural scenery.

As evening fell, I embarked on my journey back to London, filled with fond memories.
