Attraction Introduction

The Thousand Islands, Canada, located where the waters of Lake Ontario flow into the St. Lawrence River, boasts 1,865 natural islands and 1 artificial island, and is also known as St. Lawrence Islands National Park. Cruising among the islands offers the opportunity to admire mansions and islands of varying sizes and styles, and to experience the historical traces left behind on the edges of the islands. It is one of the most unique natural and historical landscapes in Eastern Canada.

Travel Tips

• Boat tours are recommended to be booked in advance, especially during peak season (July–August) when availability is very limited.

• The Thousand Islands region is about a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Toronto, making it suitable for a day trip during your Toronto itinerary.
