Attraction Introduction

Arches National Park, located near Moab, Utah, covers an area of 309 square kilometers and preserves over 2,000 natural rock arches. Approximately 300 million years ago, this salt layer was an ocean. Millions of years after the ocean receded, the salt layer was covered by air and waterborne sediment, and compressed into rock with other debris. Later, through tectonic uplift and natural weathering, it became the arches we see today.

The park not only features arches but also numerous spires, pedestals, and balanced rocks of various sizes, along with other peculiar geological formations; all the rocks display strikingly contrasting colored textures.

Travel Tips

• Must-see highlights in the park include: Delicate Arch, Landscape Arch, and Double Arch.

• Cell phone signal is weak in the park. It is recommended to download an offline map in advance and carry plenty of drinking water.

• The round-trip hike to Delicate Arch is about five kilometers and takes 5-6 hours to complete. It is recommended to start at dawn to avoid the midday heat.

• It is recommended to combine a visit with Canyonlands National Park, as the two parks are only a thirty-minute drive apart.

• It is recommended to visit in spring and autumn (March-May, September-October). Summer temperatures can exceed 40 degrees Celsius, so please be cautious.
