Devil's Teeth (Tungeneset) is a classic photography spot on the Senja National Tourist Route in Norway. Walk along the wooden boardwalk toward the Atlantic rocky shore to view the jagged Okshornan peaks in the distance; at low tide, the rock pools reflect the mountain ridges and the sky, creating an Arctic spectacle reminiscent of a "mirror of the sky."

How to Get There

Tungeneset is located along the Norwegian Scenic Route on the northwest coast of Senja Island, near Steinfjord and Ersfjord. Driving is the most convenient way to reach the site, which offers roadside parking; from there, a wooden boardwalk leads to the seaside viewing area just a few minutes away.

Public transport on the island is limited, so joining a local tour or driving yourself is recommended. Roads may be snowy or icy in winter, so please check weather and road conditions before setting off.

Travel Tips

The weather at the coast changes rapidly and can be quite windy; please wear windproof, waterproof, and non-slip footwear. Rocky shores are extremely slippery when wet, icy, or during high tide; do not approach large waves or venture into areas covered by the tide. Early morning, dusk, and low tide are best for photography, but the "mirror in the sky" effect is dependent on tides, wind, and weather conditions, and cannot be guaranteed.
