Attraction Introduction

Ávila, located in the Castile and León region, is renowned for its well-preserved medieval city walls. These walls, approximately 2.5 kilometers long, encircle the entire old city and are one of the best-preserved defensive systems in Spain. The churches and stone-paved streets within the city retain their medieval character. The entire old city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

How to Get There

It's about a 1.5-hour direct train ride from Madrid. It's also about a 1.5-hour drive. The old town area is best explored on foot.

Travel Tips

Winter temperatures are low and winds are strong. It is recommended to wear non-slip shoes when climbing the city wall.
