Attraction Introduction

Honfleur, located on the Normandy coast, is a historic port town famous for its Old Port (Vieux Bassin) and colorful buildings. Narrow, tall traditional houses line the harbor, their reflections shimmering on the water, creating a typical scene. The town once attracted numerous Impressionist painters and retains its wooden church and cobblestone streets. Though small in size, its concentrated scenery makes it a highly representative stop in Normandy.

How to Get There

You can drive there from Le Havre or Caen, arriving via the Normandy Bridge. Public transport is available by bus from Le Havre. The town is relatively small, and the main areas can be explored on foot from there.

Travel Tips

The old port area is the main tourist gathering place, and it gets quite crowded in the afternoon. There are many restaurant options, so reservations are recommended. Comfortable shoes are advised for walking on the cobblestone streets.
