Specific itinerary

D1: Edinburgh ‣ Cairngorms National Park ‣ Inverness

Depart Edinburgh and head north across the River Forth towards the Highlands. You'll then make a brief stop in one of the quintessential Scottish towns bordering the Highland Fault Line before entering the Cairngorms National Park. There are many options along the way including famous whisky distilleries, stunning Caledonian Forest walks, ancient standing stones, world-changing battlefields and beautiful lochs. What you do today will depend on your group and the ever-changing Scottish climate. There will be plenty of time for lunch en route.

You'll then continue north to Inverness, where you'll be dropped off and taken to your accommodation. The evening is free for you to explore the capital of the Highlands.

After a leisurely breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation and headed for the surrounding countryside. This will take you to Loch Ness where you will have the opportunity to take a boat tour of the lake. Our journey continues south through the Great Glen, passing Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, and Fort William. You will stop for lunch en route before reaching Glencoe. The return journey continues through the wild and remote Rannoch Moors and into the lowland scenery around Stirling before finally reaching our starting point in Edinburgh.
