｜Ticket type

Anytime ordinary ticket

It refers to the normal fare. You can buy it as you go. There is no time limit and no need to book in advance. You can go directly to the train station and buy the ticket and get on the train. Usually this kind of fare is very expensive.

Off-peak off-peak tickets

Train tickets in the UK are divided into peak and off-peak periods, and railway operating companies have launched these two gradient ticket levels to spread passenger flow. Usually the peak period refers to 6:30-9:30 in the morning and 16:00-19:00 in the evening. Because each company has different restrictions on peak/off-peak hours, please check clearly when purchasing tickets.

There are three types of off-peak tickets: Off-peak Single (one-way ticket), Off-peak day Return (round-trip ticket on the same day) and Off-peak Return (valid for one month). Under normal circumstances, it is most cost-effective to buy a Return ticket. The ticket price is not the superposition of two Single tickets, but slightly more expensive than the Single ticket.

Advance discount tickets

Discounted tickets are cheaper than ticket prices. Tickets will be released 12 weeks in advance and need to be booked in advance. However, the ride time is fixed, and if you miss the train, you cannot use it, and refunds are generally not allowed. If you change the ticket, you need to pay an additional change fee.

First Class/ Second Class tickets

British train tickets are divided into first-class seats and second-class seats, two classes. First-class seats are more spacious and comfortable, with free wifi for use, and the fare is very expensive; second-class seats are ordinary seats, and the environment varies depending on the train company. ｜How to get tickets

If you order train tickets online, you must pick them up at the train station. When picking up tickets, you must bring the Reference code sent to you after booking (if you book Train Adventure, the booking number will be on the group departure notice) and a credit card with a chip. If you have a credit card without a chip, you need to go to the manual counter to pick up the tickets. .

Steps to get tickets:

Insert your credit card into the ticket machine, select ticket collection, enter the "Reference Number", and the ticket will be automatically printed out after a while. Usually, if it is a round-trip ticket, three tickets will be printed, two of which are tickets (one has a reservation ticket valid only with travel ticket, the other is a ticket), and one is a receipt (Collection Receipt), some The round-trip ticket is the same ticket, so please keep it properly.
