Attractions
Cambridge
Here are the top universities in the UK. Whether you are here to enjoy the pleasant and melodious boating on the River Cam, or to find the traces of Xu Zhimo's poem "Farewell Cambridge" "I leave quietly, just as I came quietly".
York
Full of history and stories of the Roman Empire and the Vikings, this is also the prototype location of the Butcher Street in Harry Potter.
Edinburgh
Edinburgh's historic city boasts many well-preserved monuments, including Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, and St. Giles' Cathedral. Six sites in Edinburgh are currently registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the fact that both the Old Town and the New Town are included in this list is a source of particular pride for the Scots.
Windermere Lake District
Windermere is the gateway to the Lake District, home to Lake Windermere, its largest lake. Known as "the most beautiful scenery in central England," Windermere is the hometown of Peter Rabbit, the legendary fairy tale. It was also a filming location for "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," where the scene where Harry soars over the lake on his hippogriff was filmed.
Manchester
Home to the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station and arguably the birthplace of socialism and the Industrial Revolution, Manchester remains a pioneer in British culture and technology, retaining its own unique charm and atmosphere. This liveliness is enhanced by the city's two world-famous football clubs and its large student population. While steel mills have been transformed into Michelin-starred restaurants and warehouses have been transformed into world-class shopping malls and museums, it remains a city, fiercely proud of its industrial past and its influence on music and sport.
| Stratford (Shakespeare's Town)
This picturesque town, the hometown of renowned English playwright William Shakespeare, sits on the banks of the River Avon, nestled in the beautiful and idyllic Warwickshire countryside.
Oxford
The town is quaint and quiet, yet permeated with a rich academic atmosphere. Perhaps only in such an environment could the renowned British institution of higher learning, Oxford University, have been nurtured. Furthermore, it is also the birthplace of the fairy tale "Alice in Wonderland." Oxford, while small, is equally fascinating. Within the city, you can stroll through its many colleges and experience its academic culture.
