Admit it! When you read Harry Potter, you dreamed of becoming a wizard. Who wouldn't? Casting spells, reading magic books, flying on a broomstick, it would be magical.
Although this dream may never happen, we can give you a perfect experience on this tour. We will take you to Alnwick Castle, where Hogwarts was filmed. This is a magnificent castle, and you will experience the charming charm and history of the castle. This castle is the dream of kings and queens, and it is also the place where many people fantasize about the magical world of wizards and dragons. Alnwick Castle is a dream place where you will blend your imagination with real history.
The Scottish border was a fierce battleground for the Scots and the English, and the spoils of war were displayed in the castles of earls and dukes.
Let your imagination run wild as you journey through historic towns, fascinating stories and beautiful scenery along the border of Scotland and England.
Itinerary
Your journey will begin along the road that connected Caledonia to Roman Britannia.
You stop in Kelso to explore this pretty town and its market square, considered the largest in Scotland. You can also see the ruins of Kelso Abbey, a reminder of the many ancient conflicts between Scotland and England.
Continuing south, you’ll cross the border to Alnwick Castle, a massive, sturdy fortification that has stood for nearly a thousand years. It was originally built to maintain Norman rule over newly conquered lands, but more recently Alnwick Castle has gained fame as one of the settings for the fictional Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter film series.
Book lovers can also take the opportunity to explore one of the largest and most impressive second-hand bookshops in the UK.
After approximately three hours in Alnwick, you'll head north along the Northumberland coast. On the way back to Edinburgh, you'll stop at one of the beautiful historic villages or castles that stretch across southern Scotland's rolling hills.
