Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Manchester → Cotswolds - Bourton-on-the-Water → Oxford → London

Depart from Manchester at 8:30 AM for the picturesque Cotswolds, visiting the charming water town of Bourton-on-the-Water. Here, you can stroll along the ancient streets and admire traditional English country architecture. Next, travel to historic Oxford to experience the academic atmosphere and beautiful campuses of this world-renowned university city. Return to London around 6:30 PM, arriving at your designated city center hotel, concluding your 6-day classic British Isles tour.

【Bourton-on-the-Water】 —This is a waterside village town known as the "Venice of England." A shallow, narrow canal meanders around the town, spanned by six low, arched stone bridges over two centuries old. The banks are lined with lush trees, offering a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere.

Oxford – This quaint and tranquil town is imbued with a rich academic atmosphere, and Oxford University is arguably the main reason people visit the city. This world-renowned institution has nurtured countless outstanding talents for the world over the past 800 years. Furthermore, it is the origin story of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Although small, Oxford is equally fascinating. In this city, you can stroll among its many colleges and immerse yourself in its academic culture.

Day 2: London city tour

9:00 AM After breakfast at the hotel, depart for your exciting London tour! You will visit some of London's most iconic landmarks: the majestic Big Ben, the London Eye overlooking the Thames, the historic Westminster Abbey, the legendary 10 Downing Street, experience the royal grandeur of the Royal Stables and Buckingham Palace, and have the opportunity to witness the spectacular Changing of the Guard ceremony (subject to availability). Afterwards, visit the breathtaking Courts of Justice, the magnificent St. Paul's Cathedral, explore the storied Tower of London and the imposing Tower Bridge. 7:00 PM Conclude your day and return to the hotel.

Buckingham Palace — The British monarch frequently conducts official business here, receives the Prime Minister or ministers, and hosts important events such as state celebrations. The palace currently has 775 rooms, and its gardens are the largest private gardens in London. The State Rooms, used for official and state entertainment, are open to the public for most of August and September, and on certain days during the winter and spring. The famous Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place every morning.

Tower Bridge — A high-towered iron bridge spanning the River Thames, named after its proximity to the Tower of London, and a symbol of London. It is a 244-meter-long, movable bridge with two towers, each 65 meters high. Today, the bridge is raised and lowered by electric motors, but the original steam engine mechanism is still preserved and open to the public.

Day 3: London → Cambridge → York

8:30 AM Depart from your London hotel for a fantastic journey to Cambridge and York. Our first stop is the academically vibrant Cambridge, where you'll stroll along the banks of the River Cam, admiring the ancient architecture and stunning views of this world-renowned university. You can also visit the prestigious Cambridge University campus and experience its rich academic atmosphere. Afterwards, we'll travel to historic York, a medieval city that retains its magnificent ancient walls and Gothic architecture. You'll have time to wander around York Minster and explore Diagon Alley—the Shambles Street from Harry Potter—with its unique shops and charming English streets. 6:30 PM We'll arrive back at our hotel, concluding this fulfilling and unforgettable day.

【Cambridge】 —Explore the university city of Cambridge and visit the famous House of the Senate, once used for Senate meetings and now a traditional venue for degree ceremonies. With its neoclassical architecture and rich history, you'll gain a deeper understanding of its place in Cambridge culture. You'll also see the beautiful Corpus Clock outside Taylor's Library at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. Hailed as one of the most innovative inventions of its time, this clock is well worth a look. The Mathematical Bridge, located in southwest Cambridge on the banks of the River Cam, is truly unique in its design. Built in 1749 and designed by William Etheridge, it features a curved design and mortise and tenon joints—a must-see!

York Minster — the largest surviving medieval cathedral in Europe, the largest Gothic cathedral north of the European Alps, and one of the world's most exquisite cathedrals in terms of design and architecture. The magnificent stone cathedral remains sturdy and imposing after centuries. Its east facade features the world's largest medieval stained-glass window.

Day 4: Edinburgh

9:00 AM After breakfast, depart from the hotel for your exciting journey to Edinburgh. First, visit the majestic Edinburgh Castle, appreciating its rich history and stunning scenery. Then, stroll along the Royal Mile, exploring this historic street connecting the castle and palaces, and experiencing the unique charm of the Old City. Afterwards, head to Princes Street Gardens to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Next, climb Arthur's Seat for a spectacular panoramic view of the entire city – an unmissable experience. Finally, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee at The Elephant Cafe, soaking in the unique atmosphere of this historic café. Return to the hotel around 7:00 PM, concluding a fulfilling and unforgettable day.

Edinburgh Castle — the spiritual pillar of Scotland and its premier tourist destination. Formerly the residence of Scottish kings and queens, and one of the summer residences of the British monarch, it stands atop a 135-meter-high jagged granite hill formed by an extinct volcano. Its strategic location, with a sloping side and cliffs on three sides, makes it a natural fortress, easily defensible.

The Royal Mile — the central thoroughfare of Edinburgh's Old Town, this approximately one-mile-long street begins at Edinburgh Castle and ends at Holyrood Palace, its winding laneways forming the backbone of the Old Town. Encompassing numerous attractions, restaurants, bars, shops, and hostels, it's the perfect starting point for exploring Edinburgh's history.

Day 5: Edinburgh → Loch Lomond Rascalville Glencoe Gorge Glasgow

8:30 AM After breakfast, depart from the hotel for the picturesque Lake Lomond, where you can experience the natural beauty of the lake and mountains. Afterwards, you will traverse the magnificent Glencoe Gorge, a stunning highland landscape that has served as a filming location for numerous movies. Finally, we will arrive in Glasgow, concluding a day of enriching sightseeing.

Loch Lomond — Located in western Scotland, it is the largest freshwater lake in the UK, renowned for its stunning natural scenery and rich flora and fauna. Surrounded by green hills and islands, the lake offers visitors a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and photography. Loch Lomond is not only a famous tourist destination in Scotland but also part of a national park, often referred to as the "heart of Scotland," making it an ideal place to experience the Scottish Highlands.

Glencoe Gorge — one of the most magnificent gorges in the Scottish Highlands, renowned for its majestic mountains, deep valleys, and tragic history. The towering peaks on either side of the gorge create a unique landscape that attracts countless mountaineers, hikers, and nature photographers. Glencoe Gorge is not only a haven for outdoor adventurers but also a historical landmark due to the Glencoe Massacre of the late 17th century, offering a deeper understanding of Scottish history. Its stunning scenery and rich history make it a must-visit destination for anyone wanting to experience the essence of Scotland.
