Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Athens → Allachova → Delphi → Kalambaka

Group order start time: 09:00am

Meeting point: McDonald's Ermou 2, Athina 10557

After gathering, we will drive to Delphi, a sacred site known as the "navel of the world" and the "center of the earth," to visit the Delphi Ruins and Museum. Here, Zeus's double-headed eagles met, and Apollo established his kingdom. Strolling along the hilltops and foothills, one is immersed in the glory of ancient Greece. En route, we will visit the town of Arachova , known as "Little Switzerland." Wandering through Arachova's quiet, winding alleys, with snow-capped mountains shrouded in mist overhead, one might feel as if transported to Switzerland.

Check into a hotel in or around Kalambaka that evening.

Day 2: Kalambaka‣ Meteora‣ Athens

After breakfast, we will visit Meteora, known as the "Sky City" and considered a wonder of the world, to admire the architecture of this 14th-century monastery complex and see how six monasteries breathtakingly perch atop a giant rock. In the afternoon, we will return to our hotel in Athens for overnight stay.

(Note: The opening hours of the six monasteries vary. You will choose which monasteries to visit depending on the day's conditions. Generally, you will visit two monasteries. There are strict dress codes at the monasteries; shoulders and knees must not be exposed, and women must wear skirts. If you do not have a skirt, aprons are available for borrowing at the entrance of the monastery. Please borrow one before entering.)

Day 3: Athens ‣ Santorini

After breakfast, we will take a ferry from Piraeus Pier in Athens to Santorini (ferry schedules are generally 07:25-14:50, subject to change by the ferry company). Upon arrival in Santorini, we will head to Oia to watch the sunset. The blue sky and ocean form a vast backdrop, with clusters of white houses nestled against towering cliffs, silently witnessing every sunrise and sunset over the Aegean Sea.

Day 4: Santorini

Enjoy the stunning scenery of Santorini all day. The itinerary will be arranged according to the situation.

5-Hour Yacht Cruise with Meals 】Optional yacht cruise (at your own expense) passing red and white sand beaches, where no one can resist the coral reefs and crystal-clear waters. Visit the unique black rock formations naturally formed after a volcanic eruption, known locally as the "Indian Face." After passing the "Venetian Lighthouse," the yacht will sail to the natural hot springs of NEA KAMENI volcano and then stop in a calm bay for swimming, fishing, and dining. Onboard, in addition to sightseeing, enjoy free-flowing drinks and a local seafood barbecue feast, with dishes cooked on-board. Free snorkeling and fishing equipment are also available. Enjoy a lively atmosphere and magnificent scenery, fully immersing yourself in the Aegean Sea – a truly unforgettable experience. (In winter, if swimming is not possible, the itinerary will generally include a visit to a volcanic island.)

Perissa Beach 】Santorini's unique volcanic geology has created Kamari's distinctive black sand beach. Here, the sand is black, and the water is black too. The long stretch of black sand beach was gradually formed by the deposition of volcanic ash after the island's eruption, making it a popular resort beach on the east side of Santorini.

*Note: We recommend that you bring a towel and wear your swimsuit in advance, as there are no changing rooms on the ship; guests who cannot swim should stay on the ship to enjoy the scenery and not jump into the hot springs; please do not wear flip-flops as the volcanic rocks on the volcanic island are hot and uncomfortable to the touch; the temperature on the island is high and there are no shops, so please bring your own bottled water.

Active Volcano Nea Kameni 】On the same day, you can also join a local active volcano tour at your own expense. The tour includes a boat trip to the volcano, a visit to the smoking crater, and a chance to jump into the natural hot springs in the volcanic waters. The tour concludes with a return to the old port. Those who do not participate can enjoy free time in the town of Fira.

Fira Enjoy your free time. You can stroll through Fira, where restaurants, bars, and various shops abound. You can walk to the blue-domed church, or choose a sun-drenched café to enjoy the sea breeze and the fairytale-like scenery.

That evening, I checked into the Santorini Hotel.

Day 5: Santorini to Athens

After breakfast, we will travel to the highest point on Santorini, home to the island's first monastery, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the island. Afterwards, we will visit the town of Pyrgos , which remained the capital of Santorini until the early 19th century. The town boasts numerous exquisite Byzantine buildings and magnificent churches. After lunch, we will prepare to board a cruise ship back to Athens. (The cruise time is generally 15:30-23:25, subject to the specific times published by the ferry company).

*The round trip from Athens to Santorini is by large, slow ship, which is less likely to cause seasickness. The journey takes about 8 hours. If you are concerned about the long journey, you can choose to leave the tour on your own in Santorini and return by plane.

D6: Athens

Today is a full day of sightseeing in Athens. After breakfast, we will visit the Acropolis (which includes the Parthenon, Temple of Athena Nike, Theatre of Dionysus, and Erechtheion). Located in the southwest of Athens' city center, the Acropolis sits atop a steep hill over 150 meters high and is a landmark of the city and a symbol of ancient Greece. After lunch, we will tour Athens city center, including Syntagma Square, the Parliament Building, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony.

Finally, you can explore the PLAKA Old Town at your leisure. This street is the most culturally and culturally rich ancient neighborhood in Athens, and the most vibrant place in the city.

Suggested departure time: [13:00] Constitution Square, city center (McDonald's Ermou 2, Athina 10557)

Attraction Introduction

Acropolis of Athens

The Acropolis, a sacred site embodying the faith and glory of the Greek people, is the most outstanding ancient architectural complex in Greece and the center of religious and political life. Covering approximately 4 square kilometers, it sits atop the Acropolis hill in the heart of Athens. Construction began in 580 BC and consists of a series of temples, each with its own mythology and story.

Delphi Ruins and Museum

Delphi, located 150 kilometers from Athens, is a sacred site in ancient Greece, considered the "center of the earth" and the "navel of the world," and was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1987. It mainly consists of the Temple of Apollo, the Temple of Athena, a theater, a gymnasium, and sports fields. The most famous of these is the Temple of Apollo, the ancient Greek god of light and youth, and the god of music, poetry, medicine, and animal husbandry. Legend has it that Zeus, in order to determine the center of the earth, released two eagles from the poles, which met at Delphi. Zeus determined that this was the center of the earth and placed a round stone there as a marker.

Meteora, the Castle in the Sky

Meteora, one of the largest and most important Greek Orthodox monasteries, is located on the northwestern edge of Thessaly in central Greece, near the Pindus Mountains. During the Great Revival of Hermitism in the 15th century, 24 monasteries were built atop its "pillars in the sky." Meteora means "suspended in the air" in Greek, and the six surviving monasteries stand atop sandstone pillars 373 meters high. Meteora showcases outstanding monastic architecture, representing a unique artistic achievement by transforming a cliff into a place of seclusion, meditation, and prayer. Its 16th-century frescoes had a crucial influence on the development of later Byzantine painting.

| Santorini Oia ( OIA ) town

Oia, perched on a cliff overlooking the sea, is the second largest town on Santorini and is considered one of the most beautiful places in the world to watch the sunset. Every day, thousands of tourists from all over the world gather here to enjoy the afterglow of the sunset. At the moment the sun dips below the horizon, time seems to stand still. The town suddenly becomes peaceful and serene. A smile appears on everyone's face as they quietly bid farewell to the last rays of the setting sun. Everyone is captivated by this breathtaking scenery, and they can't help but applaud, overwhelmed by the beauty of nature.

| Fira, Santorini

Fira (also known as Thira) is the capital of Santorini, a Greek island in the Aegean Sea. It's a traditionally inhabited town with convenient transportation and numerous hotels. Direct buses connect it to Oia, the black and red sand beaches, making it a major transit hub for Santorini's public transport system. During the peak season in July, August, and September, it's packed with tourists, many of whom are newlyweds on their honeymoons – incredibly romantic! The town is small and perfect for leisurely exploration on foot. Its alleyways are cleverly laid out, crisscrossing and winding. These alleys are filled with small shops selling traditional clothing, handicrafts, and gold and silver jewelry, as well as numerous family-run restaurants and cafes.
