Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Reykjavik ‣ Golden Circle ‣ Vik

In the morning, we will meet at the parking lot of Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik and depart for the Golden Circle sightseeing route. 【Thingvellir National Park】is the only UNESCO World Heritage Site on the Icelandic mainland and the site of Iceland's ancient parliament. 【Gesellskoye Geyser】Each eruption lasts approximately 1-2 minutes before gradually subsiding. This cycle repeats continuously, creating a magnificent spectacle. 【Gullfoss】is a two-tiered waterfall with powerful spray cascading down into the valley. Under the sunlight, the spray refracts a rainbow, radiating a golden sheen, hence the name of the waterfall. Overnight in a town near Vik.

D2: Vik Town ‣Jegusalon Ice Lake‣ Blue Ice Cave (Limited Time Offer: November/December) ‣Vic

After breakfast, we will visit Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. On a clear day, the sunlight reflecting off the ice on the beach creates a dazzling spectacle, like sparkling diamonds. Depending on weather and time, an optional Blue Ice Cave tour (at your own expense) is available. As we venture into the ice cave, we will traverse the ever-changing glacial landscape, admiring the deep crevasses and incredible ice formations. After the glacier hike, we will visit the mysterious Blue Ice Cave (optional activity, subject to availability *only available from November 1st to March 31st ). The ice cave is naturally formed, and its appearance changes every year, which is what makes it so captivating. Overnight in Vik or its surrounding area.

*The Blue Ice Cave exploration tour requires secondary location confirmation and is only available for tours from November 1st to March 31st.

Blue ice caves are rare, naturally formed phenomena that can only be seen when winter temperatures drop below freezing and the river beneath the ice layer freezes. Different locations create caves of varying styles each year. Depending on the conditions and safety, we will selectively visit one natural ice cave during our trip.

D3: Vic South Bank Scenery Reykjavik

After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel to Eldhraun, a lava field formed by lava flows from a volcanic eruption. We will pass through Vik, a small town at the southernmost tip of Iceland's main island, where a charming red-roofed church sits atop a hill. Our next stop is the well-known Reynis black sand beach on the south coast, where the basalt columns offer stunning photo opportunities. Afterwards, we will visit the DC-3 aircraft wreckage (optional), a site with a post-apocalyptic feel. Although an aviation accident, the wreckage created a unique non-natural landscape because no one was injured. The weathered fuselage, weathered and broken, possesses a desolate beauty. Next, we will drive to two major waterfalls in the south: Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, where we can experience the magnificent yet gentle scenery of the south. Don't forget to admire the waterfalls from different angles for unique perspectives. In the evening, we will return to Reykjavik, concluding the tour.

Note: Actual arrival time may be delayed due to various unforeseen circumstances such as weather, traffic jams, traffic accidents, festivals, events, riots, strikes, etc. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have subsequent travel plans requiring other transportation to other cities, we strongly recommend that you allow at least 3 hours of buffer time to avoid any inconvenience caused by travel delays. Our company will not be responsible for any losses incurred due to insufficient buffer time in your self-arranged travel plans. Thank you for your understanding.

Attraction Introduction

The Golden Circle

This refers to three major attractions in southwestern Iceland: the Old Parliament Site, Geysir, and Gullfoss. These three sites are very close to each other, and their magnificent scenery is unique to Iceland, making them world-renowned. The Old Parliament Site (open-air parliament) is the world's oldest democratic parliament site, located next to a long and wide fault line, the boundary between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. Geysir is Iceland's largest natural geyser; when calm, it resembles a crystal ball, while when erupting, it spews plumes of smoke and smoke, reaching heights of over 30 meters, captivating visitors with its grandeur and beauty. Gullfoss is Iceland's second largest waterfall and one of its most beautiful. It is named "Golden Waterfall" not only because the river water itself has a slightly yellowish tint, but also because at dusk, the entire waterfall is bathed in the golden light of the setting sun, creating a precious, golden spectacle.

Vik Town

Located at the southernmost tip of Iceland, Vik is a quiet and peaceful town. Behind the town lies the vast ocean. Vik's most famous attractions are its black sand beach and red-roofed chapel. You can also see several small islands in the distance, resembling the Bijia Mountain in southern China. Due to global warming and rising sea levels, what were once towering mountains over a century ago have been reduced to mere peaks, becoming a haven for seabirds.

Blue Ice Cave Exploration

The blue ice caves beneath Vatnajökull Glacier are only safe to enter from November to March each year. A winter visit to Iceland wouldn't be complete without exploring one of the country's most breathtaking natural wonders. These caves are entirely natural, hidden on the edge of the glacier. While ice is usually perceived as transparent, the ice inside these caves radiates a blue, crystal-like glow. Our guides will decide which ice cave to visit each day based on safety and weather conditions. Please remember to wear warm, thick, waterproof clothing and waterproof hiking boots.

| Diamond Ice Beach Jökulsárlón

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon was first formed around 1930. Starting in the 1930s, the lagoon has grown to over 20 square kilometers and is 200 meters deep, making it the second deepest lake in Iceland. Many films have been shot on location at Jökulsárlón, including *Tomb Raider*, *Batman Begins*, and two James Bond films, *Die Hard* and *The Man from Nowhere*. The massive icebergs on Vatnajökull Glacier continuously break off and melt, creating ice fragments that flow into Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and are washed ashore by the Atlantic Ocean onto the black sand beach opposite the glacier. These ice fragments have a certain degree of transparency, and under the sunlight, they shimmer and sparkle, creating a striking contrast with the black sand, like sparkling diamonds. Hence, it is known as Diamond Beach.

Seljalandsfoss

Seljalandsfoss is fed by glacial meltwater and, like the Seljalandsá River, originates from the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. The volcano buried beneath the glacier erupted dramatically in 2010, paralyzing European air traffic. The waterfall's long, narrow curtain of water cascades down towering, ancient sea cliffs that were once part of Iceland's coastline, gradually evolving into their present form over time and through geological changes.

| DC-3 plan aircraft debris

Located in southern Iceland, it is one of Iceland's largest and most magnificent waterfalls, with a width of 25 meters and a drop of 60 meters. The powerful flow of water is spectacular and attracts many tourists to witness its beauty.

Reynisfjara Beach (Black Sand Beach)

It's a sandy beach formed from obsidian that cooled after a volcanic eruption and was then weathered. Because it's naturally black and translucent, the seawater remains crystal clear, shimmering with a golden glow in the sunlight. There are two entrances to the black sand beach. One is to drive to Vik and turn into Reynishverfisvegur, where you can see the entire black sand beach and a long row of basalt rocks.
