RHS Garden Bridgewater – a ritual of spring not to be missed

In spring in Manchester, the sun is shining brightly, the air is fresh, everything is revived, and vitality is exuding everywhere. As far as the eye can see, it is filled with green mixed with delicate flowers. The spring weather is bright, so meet up with a few friends and go hiking in the countryside together, playing games or having a picnic. It is natural and comfortable, and your whole body feels comfortable, as if you are undergoing a spring ritual of self-cleansing of your soul and restarting your energy.

The 154-acre RHS Garden Bridgewater in Salford, Greater Manchester, is the Royal Horticultural Society's fifth garden. It opened on 18 May 2021 and is designed to benefit Manchester City and the North West of England. The department brings world-class horticulture to the first RHS garden to be located in an urban area.

The gardening space, which has taken many years to create by RHS Chelsea Flower Show gold medal-winning cutting-edge design team, will become a beacon of horticultural inspiration in the heart of the North West, bringing the ‘garden within a garden’ to life.
crown jewel

The 11-acre Weston Walled Garden is the crown jewel of the entire garden and is considered the largest Victorian walled garden in the UK. The wall has stood for 180 years. It is also home to the spectacular "Paradise Garden" and the interesting "Kitchen Garden", planted with exotic plants inspired by Asian and Mediterranean gardens.

In the RHS Garden Bridgewater (Royal Horticultural Society Bridgewater Garden) there is a Chinese Streamside Garden with the theme of traditional Chinese four seasons.

The entire garden "borrows scenery" from the geographical features of the original natural forests, and cleverly uses the local Worsley Delphi rocks in Derbyshire to create a characteristic landscape of the traditional Chinese stream garden of "one scene at a time". Follow your footsteps and enjoy China's unique hydrangeas and azaleas in the spring garden, as if you have returned to your hometown.
