Attraction Introduction

Óbidos is a well-preserved medieval town with white houses decorated in blue and yellow, and narrow, winding streets. The entire town is surrounded by walls, which can be climbed for panoramic views. Historically, it was a city gifted by a queen, thus retaining a strong royal tradition. Compact in size, it is a typical example of a Portuguese old town.

How to Get There

It takes about an hour by bus from Lisbon. The old town is best explored on foot.

There are many areas of the city wall without railings, so please be careful.
