Attraction Introduction

The Jurassic Coast is the UK's only natural World Heritage Site and was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. This spectacular 95-mile stretch extends east-west from East Devon to Dorset, with rocks dating back as far as 185 million years! While named for its Jurassic fossils, the sedimentary rocks here are not limited to the Jurassic period; fossils from the Triassic and Cretaceous periods can also be found. The diverse topography of the Jurassic Coast showcases various geological formations.
