Pre-departure tips
Let’s go~ Let’s go to England!
Wait a minute ~ I haven’t packed my luggage yet!
Packing is a headache, what’s the weather like, what to bring and what not to bring? I feel very uneasy!
We have put together a few pre-trip tips for you, hoping to help you set off easily!

|What to wear for the British climate
Generally speaking, the UK is cool and rainy, with a large temperature difference between day and night, and is very "changeable". Therefore, no matter when you come to the UK, it is highly recommended to bring a jacket, which can both protect you from the rain and keep you warm. It is recommended to wear shoes that are comfortable and easy to walk in. It is not recommended for girls to wear only stilettos and high heels.
Spring March-May
The British climate is relatively dry in spring, with temperatures rising during the day but cooler at night. The temperature difference is relatively large from the north of Scotland to the south. The average temperature is 3-9 degrees Celsius. On a sunny day, it will be warmer at around 15 degrees Celsius.
It is recommended to wear a combination that is "thick on the inside and thick on the outside", such as wearing a cotton T-shirt inside and a light down jacket, coat or windbreaker on the outside.
Summer June-August
The days get longer in summer, with light starting at 4 or 5 a.m. and lasting until about 10 p.m., making it very suitable for travel. The average temperature is 9-17 degrees Celsius, and the hottest period may occur for 1-2 weeks in July and August, when the temperature is around 35 degrees Celsius. The amount of rainfall in summer is uncertain, sometimes heavy and sometimes light, so it is recommended to bring a rain gear in your luggage.
It is recommended to wear short-sleeved clothes and light sun-protective clothing as the temperature difference between morning and evening is large. Also, don’t forget to bring sunscreen.
Autumn September-November
Autumn is comfortable with cool air and average temperature of 10-17 degrees Celsius. After the autumnal equinox on September 22, the nights will fall earlier and earlier and the temperature will drop. Rainy and windy weather sometimes occurs, so it is highly recommended to bring rain gear.
It is recommended to wear spring clothing.
Winter December-February
The average temperature is -3 - 10 degrees Celsius, and rainy weather is common . The nights are relatively long, most obvious in the north. In Scotland, it gets light after 9 a.m. and gets dark after 3 p.m. It often snows in Scotland during the winter.
It is recommended to dress warmly and bring rain gear.
|Time difference and season

The time in the world is now based on the time of the Greenwich Observatory. The Observatory in Greenwich Park has a standard time dividing line, so when we adjust the time difference on the computer or mobile phone, the London time zone is displayed as 0 , called the Central Time Zone (also displayed as UTC – Coordinated Universal Time, called Universal Standard Time in Chinese), ours in China is GMT+8, located in the East Eighth District. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT, called Greenwich Standard Time in Chinese) refers to the standard time at the Greenwich Observatory in London.
The UK still uses "summer time" and "winter time". A brief summary of the time difference with China is:
Daylight saving time is from the last Sunday in March of that year to the last Sunday in October of that year, and the time difference between London and Beijing is 7 hours; from the last Sunday in October of that year to the last week of March of the following year Japan is in winter time, and the time difference between London and Beijing is 8 hours.
